FAQ

Question: What do I do if the probe does not insert in the ground easily due to hard, dry soil?

Answer:

It may help to turn on the water control valve slightly before inserting the probe. This will help soften and lubricate the soil to make the probe insertion easier. You can step down on the foot peg with one foot, if necessary. You will find that, each time you root feed, the probe insertion will become easier because the water flowing from the probe jets will loosen and aerate the soil. If your soil is so hard that you are having problems inserting the steel probe, you may want to inject a Soil Amendment to break up the soil, making it easier for your plant's root system to develop.
